4C Super Modifieds are designed to be
a more affordable way to go open wheel racing. The cars are a 5/8 scale
of the Super Modifieds that run at Oswego Speedway and the Supers that
run on the ISMA Super Modified Tour. The cars weigh 1,125 pounds with
driver and run a 4 cylinder 600cc carbureted Honda or Suzuki
motorcycle engines. The engines are stock with no modifications done to
them. The only modifications allowed are to the carburetors to get the
proper jetting. This modification rule is to keep engine costs low. This
means that you can buy a complete engine for $1000 or less and still
race competitively.
4C Super Modifieds run with either home made or quick change
rear ends with steel rims and Chevy Chevette spindles. They run on
Hoosier racing slicks that will last all season. This means that there
is no need to put new tires on the car every time you go out on the
track, like in other high dollar divisions. The cars run 3 gallon fuel
cells and on pump gas.
You will also find with the 4c Super Modified division that
every team and driver work together and help each other with their cars.
This allows everyone to have the best experience possible while racing a
4C Super Modified. Our goal is to make sure that everyone enjoys the
experience of driving a 4C Super Modified without spending a lot of
money.
4C Super Modifieds are usually one of fastest divisions at
every track that they travel to. In 2010 the series will be racing at
Wall Stadium in Belmar, NJ, Mahoning Valley Speedway in Lehighton, PA
Shenandoah Speedway in Shenandoah, VA and Riverhead Raceway in Riverhead, NY. See our schedule page for
upcoming race date. Hope you can come check us out!
